What We Do

Integrating WDL with Workflow Management Systems

Detailed and reproducible workflows that outline the specific tasks, inputs, outputs, and dependencies required for sequencing data analysis. These can be created through Workflow Description Language (WDL) and executed in Workflow Management Systems – such as the Terra biomedical analysis platform from The Broad Institute.
WDL can be used to execute a range of tasks such as data preprocessing, alignment, variant calling, quality control, and downstream analysis. It can also be seamlessly integrated into your workflow and it is compatible with a variety of tools and software commonly used in NGS data analysis such as Terra.bio.

Integrating WDL with Workflow Management Systems
Workflow Description Language

WDL is associated with the Broad Institute and is used in various bioinformatics projects. It is an enterprise-grade structure with a more specialized user base than Nextflow. WDL is well-suited for pathogen genomics because it is rigorous, expressive, and well-integrated with the Terra platform. This makes it easy to deploy and run WDL workflows on Terra's cloud-based workflow execution environment and store and manage data on its platform. These workflows are validated before they are executed, which helps ensure they are correct and reproducible when generating diagnostic reports for pathogen genomes.
