The United States government has declared the ongoing Monkeypox virus (MPXV) outbreak a public health emergency. Few laboratories, however, have the capacity to develop and validate novel MPXV sequencing and bioinformatics protocols that could bolster our understanding of this virus and lead to better informed public health action.
To address this issue, Theiagen Genomics has worked along side academic researchers at Yale University and public health scientists at the Massachusetts Department of Health to release an open-access protocol for sequencing and analyzing MPXV.
